Ronald L. Schultheis began serving as Monroe County Commissioner December 1, 2018. He is a lifelong resident of Monroe County. Ron is a retired electrical lineman after 41 years at Monroe County Electric. He is a 41 year member of IBEW Local 309 and has served on the Monroe County Zoning and Planning Commission.
Ron was born near Kidd (Boxtown), IL and resided there until 1974 when he married his wife, Suzanne, of 44 years. Since then, they have lived in rural Fults. They have two daughters, Leanne (James) Arnold and
Andrea (J.P.) Childers, and four grandchildren, Caroline and Claire Arnold and Charles (Will) and Adelyn Childers.
He loves grade school, high school and college sports and attends St. Peter and Paul Church.
He currently serves on the Monroe County Health Board, Monroe County Noxious Weed Committee, Southwestern Illinois Metropolitan and Regional Planning Commission Executive Committee, Farmland Assessment Review Committee and Western Egyptian Economic Board of Directors.
